My final trip before joining the working world, I went out to California for a week or two to visit Grandma and Grandpa Tilley in Northern California. From their home in Grass Valley, we drove the RV to a few redwood parks, down to San Francisco and then further South to Big Sur. San Francisco is one of my favorite cities in the US, and the entire coastline along Big Sur is amazing, with striking colors and great views from the road winding precariously along the edge of the cliffs.

One of the many great views at Big Sur.

The famous Bixby Creek Bridge.

Julia Pfeiffer Burns Park - McWay Falls. I had seen some pictures of this place on the internet and really wanted to incorporate it into my trip.

Julia Pfeiffer Burns Park - McWay Falls. It was such a great site that I decided to stop at it again on the way back to catch it at sunset.

From 17 Mile Drive near Carmel, the road that borders Pebble Beach and cost about $10 to enter.

One final shot of Julia Pfeiffer Burns Park and some of the wildflowers.

More Big Sur.

Point Lobos park, just South of Carmel.

Ragged Point juts out into the ocean raggedly, forming a sort of point.

Muir Woods, just North of San Francisco, named for John Muir, conservationist and all around great guy.

Some of the giant redwoods in Muir Woods.

Downtown San Francisco with Alcatraz in the background.

"Gentlemen, welcome to The Rock."

Coit Tower, Golden Gate, etc

A view of the city from Lombard Street, the crookedest street in the world, winding back and forth up a very steep hill. The pointy building in the middle of the picture is the TransAmerica building.

From the pier near Ghiradelli Square, the home of the delectable chocolate. Some crazy swimmers also do laps in this area, though their red skin seems to indicate that it's not a great idea.
